I am a Medical Cannabis Patient so usually when I have Cannabis there is no need for me to search for other alternatives to help me sleep. But when I am out of Cannabis I found other herbs to aid in sleeping as well as dream recall. I am so fascinated by the dream world because it is your world that you have created yourself.
Some still view the dream world as the world of make believe but did you know that some indigenous cultures view the dream world more like the waking world. I have been asked many times what herbs can use smoke in order to help with insomnia and dream recall. I have to admit that I haven't tried anything as effective as Cannabis. I am not saying it is the only herb out there for sleep and dream recall because everyone's experience with this herb is different. What I want to talk to you about is more of my experience with Catnip.
I decided to smoke a bunch of catnip joints when I was out of cannabis completely. I smoked the catnip joints along with several small pots of catnip tea. After about the 20th joint I started to feel very drowsy and thought that I saw some white figure in the darkness of the house I was living in at the time. My dream time was confusing. I believe I just succumbed to the intoxication of the catnip. I can't recall any dreams that I may have had from that experience. I did notice that I woke up the next morning still feeling really drowsy.
It is very funny how the video that I created for my Youtube Channel The Productive Cannabis Connoisseur where I roll catnip joints and smoke them that it is a very popular video. So many people are looking to alternative herbs because most can't access cannabis or other highly medicinal herbs easily. I have yet to find an herb that is as all encompassing as Cannabis. Some don't like me to say this but it is true. I am not saying that Cannabis is the only herb for everything but sure does cover so many conditions including sleep and dream recall.
People still connected the usage of cannabis on a regular basis with the reason why people are not recalling their dreams. Some researchers still want many to believe that Cannabis affects the memory in a very destructive way. It is all lies and bullshit. Just be discerning when you do your research about Cannabis whether it be online or in books. Some of these so called experts are basing their supposed facts about cannabis from stereotypes.

Can Partaking In Cannabis Stop The Flow Of Dreams ?
I am no doctor or scientist. This blog entry is based on my on personal experience and some research that I did through an article on WebMD.
When I partake of Cannabis before bedtime it is my way of getting ready for the Dream World. It is important that I choose the correct strain. If I choose a sativa strain I will not be able to settle down to sleep. But if I choose a indica strain I am able to reach a focused meditative state before entering the Dream World and my mind seems more open to the suggestion I give it before falling asleep.
I have read many articles talking about how when people partake of Cannabis before bedtime they are not able to have as much REM sleep. Let me share with you one of the many articles that I found that explains why this happens. This information is from WebMD:
We know that dreaming happens during REM sleep. If THC decreases the amount of REM sleep a person gets, then it also decreases the amount of time a person has to dream.
Of course, these findings should be looked at with a critical eye. The study is from 1972, and there hasn’t been, so far as we can find, a study done like it since. Only a small handful of subjects—all of whom were young and male—were studied, so the sample isn’t representative of the entire population.
So what do you think about these findings. It is all the way back from the 70's so very outdated. But I do like the fact that they didn't use monkeys, rats, or rabbits to experiment on. There are many Cannabis partakers who meditate with Cannabis before bedtime and still recall there dreams because they actually want to. I am convinced that if a person truly wants to remember their dreams all they need to do is ask for it to happen after you have meditated with cannabis before bedtime to get you in a relaxed and meditative state of mind.
I have really been diving deep into the Dream World because I believe that our dreams are here to help us if only we become aware of this fact.
I will doing more and research about herbs and the Dream World about many other herb from all over the world and report back here so please do stay tuned.
Please do share this with your friends and family. Share the knowledge and don't hoard it!

The 5 Stages of Sleep
In one eight-hour night of sleep, we go through the sleep cycle about three times on average. There are five stages total: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep; each stage has specific brainwaves associated with it.- Stages 1, 2 and 3 are transition stages that help you travel from the world of wakefulness to the world of sleep.
- The fourth stage is known as “deep sleep,” which is the most restorative for our bodies.
- REM sleep, the final stage in the cycle, is when almost all dreaming occurs. Dreams can occur in non-REM sleep. However, it’s very uncommon, and the dreams are much less likely to be remembered upon awakening.
Does Cannabis Decrease Your REM Sleep?
A study from 1972 used young adult male volunteers and dosed one group with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and another with a synthetic compound similar to THC, called synhexl. Each subject then had their brainwaves measured with an electroencephalogram (EEG) while they slept. Researchers found that varying levels of THC as well as synhexl increased Stage 4 sleep (deep sleep), but decreased REM sleep. We know that dreaming happens during REM sleep. If THC decreases the amount of REM sleep a person gets, then it also decreases the amount of time a person has to dream.
